It is both an honor and a privilege to serve as President of CCPRO during this pivotal time for California’s community colleges. As public relations and communications professionals, we hold a unique responsibility—and opportunity—to share the powerful, transformative stories of our students, colleges, and communities.
This past year has reminded us just how critical our work is. Amid rapidly evolving media landscapes, shifting enrollment trends, and the ongoing challenge of misinformation, your creativity, dedication, and commitment to equity-driven communication have made a real difference. You’ve reimagined outreach strategies, championed inclusive messaging, and embraced authentic storytelling to strengthen public trust and student engagement.
Looking ahead, CCPRO is focused on expanding professional development, deepening peer-to-peer collaboration, and advocating for the strategic role of communications at every level of the California Community Colleges system. The CCPRO Board is excited to continue building a strong network where innovation is shared, challenges are tackled together, and voices are amplified.
